HIST 620 Early Modern Europe - Traditions and New Trends
Taught as schedule allows (consult the Course Directory)
The main objective of this seminar is to reflect on the field of early modern European history, its history and evolution through readings and discussions of classical works that strongly influenced the way we study the period, and more recent works that propose new approaches to old topics or question established historiographical paradigms. This seminar is designed for those conducting research on the history and culture of early modern Europe and as an introduction to the literature of the field for students doing research in related fields and disciplines. Students are expected to be active participants in this class.
