HIST770 - RES SEM: TRANSREGIONAL: Research Seminar: Comparative Tools & Methods

Description: 
This one-semester seminar has two main goals: first, to undertake and complete a research project under the joint direction of your primary advisor and this seminar; and second, to present and discuss practical research skills and professional issues related to historical scholarship, particularly writing and publishing. Weekly topics will include the following: the use of finding aids (both online and hard copy), both general and by subfield; comparisons of reference and information management software; trends and tools in online resources and digital humanities; conferences and presentations; publishing your work in scholarly journals; and more.
