Kristen Stromberg Childers
Assistant Professor of History
Kristen Stromberg Childers did her undergraduate work at Grinnell College. Before starting her Ph.D. at Penn, she worked at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. She received her Ph.D. in 1998, and has taught European History at Penn, Bryn Mawr, Swarthmore, and Rutgers. A historian of twentieth-century France, her current interests include the Vichy regime, decolonization, gender history and cultural history. Her first book, Fathers, Families, and the State in France, 1914-1945 was published by Cornell University Press.
