History Undergraduate Advisory Board

The History Undergraduate Advisory Board is a student-run organization dedicated to strengthening the relationship between History Majors and Penn History Faculty. We sponsor a variety of events including student-faculty lunches, history major happy hours, "dinner & a movie" nights, and annual teaching awards.

The Undergraduate Advisory Board holds meetings once a month, and welcome anyone who is interested in becoming involved with the HUAB. If you have any questions, or are interested in becoming a member, please contact:

To apply for HUAB please submit the application by September 26.

History Honor Society

Undergraduates interested in applying for membership in Phi Alpha Theta, the International History Honor Society can inquire with the Undergraduate Advisor. Applicants need a minimum GPA of 3.5 in history courses and a minimum overall GPA at Penn of 3.2. Also, they must have taken at least four history courses. The application process occurs once a year, usually in February.

Applicants should submit 1) an application form, 2) an unofficial transcript, and 3) a $40 check payable to the "Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania" to Dr. Fabella before the deadline listed below.

Application deadline is Friday, February 21, 2014

In addition, Phi Alpha Theta encourages history students to participate in and join the History Undergraduate Advisory Board. Phi Alpha Theta works in conjunction with the HUAB, and any activities planned by both groups will be sent out to all majors.
