The History Department mourns the loss of Professor Michael B. Katz, Walter H. Annenberg Professor of History, who died August 23, 2014 at the age of 75.  A pioneering historian of public education, poverty, and social welfare, Katz's work reshaped the contours of American urban history. 

The History Department and Urban Studies Program will hold a memorial service on Monday, September 22, at 5:00 PM, College Hall 200.  Send your RSVP to octaviac@sas.upenn.edu.
