Camille Suárez (2019 PhD) accepts tenure track as an Assistant Professor of 19th century US history at California State University, Los Angeles

Camille Suárez (2019 PhD) has accepted a tenure track as an Assistant Professor of 19th century US history at California State University, Los Angeles. Camille will be starting there (virtually!) in the Fall.

 

This past year, Camille has held a position as assistant professor at Valparaiso University. 

 

Camille’s dissertation is entitled “How the West was Won: Race, Citizenship, and the Colonial Roots of California, 1849 – 1879.”  Her committee consisted of Mary Frances Berry (chair); Eiichiro Azuma; Stephanie McCurry (Columbia U.); and Andrés Reséndez (U.C. Davis).
