Departmental Undergraduate Teaching Award Winners Announced

The Department of History’s student-run Undergraduate Advisory Board (HUAB) is pleased to announce the winners of this year's departmental undergraduate teaching awards.  After considering the glowing nominations made by undergraduate History Majors, HUAB made the following selections:

The Richard S. Dunn Award for Distinguished Teaching goes to Professor Sarah Gronningsater.  The award was created in 1997 to recognize a faculty member with an “active commitment to the department’s undergraduates.  Through his mentorship of countless individuals, his ability to instill a passion for history in the hearts of his students, and his selfless concern for undergraduate education, Professor Dunn exemplified during his 39 year career the attributes this award seeks to honor and encourage.”

The Teaching Assistant of the Year Award goes to Grant Stanton.  HUAB established this award in 1998 in order “to recognize the teaching assistant who best demonstrates a genuine commitment to the well-being of the department’s undergraduate community.”

Sarah and Grant will be honored at the History Department’s Undergraduate Graduation Reception (Zoom version) on Sunday, May 17 at 11:00. Congratulations to Sarah and Grant, and thank you for your dedication to undergraduate teaching in history!
