I use methods from various disciplines, most notably political theory and law, to study 20th century historical questions about empire, citizenship, migration, and international law. I most recently completed a project that interrogated the Reagan administration's use of international law to justify the 1983 Grenada invasion. Now, I'm examining Black immigration to the U.S. in the 20th century.
